Dear Broad MBA:

I would like to extend my warmest welcome to you and your family! My name is Kim Beers and I am your MBA advisor here at The Eli Broad Graduate School of Management. As advisor and counselor, I am offering you my full support from start to finish. From orientation to graduation, you will receive constant guidance to assist you with your decision making process — including academic, personal and career issues. My goal is to make your transition to and through the MBA Program a truly enriching experience. It is my personal pledge to help you clear the occasional obstacles you may encounter, so you can focus on the important matters.

As you know, the Broad MBA Program is academically and personally challenging, demanding your full attention. Over your two years with us, I encourage you to learn as much as you can! Use the tools provided by your professors and take advantage of the networking resources of your teammates. Remember, your teammates may be your best source for future information and assistance. Endeavor to make this brief time an experience to remember.

If you have a spouse, partner or children, be sure to involve them in your MBA experience. They are your key support system, so participate together and share the many MBA functions. Don't hesitate to suggest or organize new ones to meet your unique needs. Look at the MBA program as a time to strengthen your relationships even more.

Finally, building and maintaining a successful team is a skill that will benefit you throughout your MBA studies and beyond. The strengths of your teammates, both in character and scholarship, will enhance your experience — take good care of one another. You are all in this together — good teammates are good friends for life.

We are excited about helping you fulfill your vision and career objectives!

Sincerely,
